Student and teacher desks
Our Lady of the Assumption School and Orphanage was established in 1922, in Ferzol, near Zahle in the Bekaa region—58kms from Beirut. Five thousand inhabitants live in this village and agriculture is their main source of income.
The school educates 500 students from the village and the surrounding areas. Many families are unable to pay for tuition. Although the 35 teachers and Salvatorian Sisters Congregation work hard to provide for their students, they are unable to meet all of their needs. Currently, the classrooms are in urgent need of desks for the students and teachers. The ones they are using are old and broken.
$12,525 will enable the school to furnish 15 classrooms with 160 students’ desks and 15 tables for the teachers.
